SpeechExpert
Design
for Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003 |
|
|
It is sometimes much more convenient to listen
to text rather than merely reading it off a monitor. Stepping
in to provide such a service is SpeechExpert,
which can read emails and other documents directly from various
Web browsers. Additionally, visitors can convert the various
documents into audio files for their own convenience. For
those interested in having documents read in various languages,
SpeechExpert functions in ten separate languages. This version
is compatible with Windows 98 or newer.
- Embed into Internet Explorer and grabs the
articles in Internet.
- articles reading and management.
- Multiple articles supported.
- Transparent float window supported which
shows the sentence being read.
- Converts the articles into audio files including
wave and mp3 formats.
- Auto shutdown feature (for narrating the
stories to the kids).
- Full screen sliding supported for presentation
and language education.
- Over 10 languages and twenties voices supported.
- Multiple languages interface supported.
|
| |
SpeechExpert is intergrated with Internet Explorer
as a plug in, when you meet the articles you are intrested
in, you can grab it into SpeechExpert by the short cut
in right menu or in the toolbar. SpeechExpert will automatically
select the most fitable language for you. SpeechExpert
can also read the text in the files stored in the computers
for you. |
|
|
 |
SpeechExpert can read the articles you added with over
10 languages and twenties voices. |
|
SpeechExpert supports multiple articles, you can
switch the articles from one to another quickly. The
articles are defined into 3 catalogs: read, reading
and deleted. This feature enables you to review the
articles read and arrange the order for the articles
to be read. When you listen to a long article, you may
unable to finish it one time. SpeechExpert can log down
the position read for you, and you can resume the breaking
later. |
|
|
 |
SpeechExpert can convert the arcitals into audio
files in batches (including wave format and mp3 format),
which makes you be able to listen to the articels in
the computer without SpeechExpert installed. |
|
| Compares with other text
to speech softwares, SpeechExpert has some
special features besides those listed above: |
|
- Unlike
the other text to speech software, SpeechExpert
uses different color to highlight the word being
read instead of selecting the word, so you can
preview the unread and review the read.
If you
want the text automatically scroll to the word
being read, you can switch to the autoscrolling
mode.
|
|
|
 |
- When not in autoscrolling mode, you can jump
to a new position by double clicking.
|
|
- The float window shows the sentence being
read. It will be very useful when the main window
is minimized to the system tray. You can also
control SpeechExpert from this small window.
|
|
|
- Shown in fullscreen mode,
it will be useful when you want to show the text as
a slide.
- You can switch the language quickly in reading from
the status bar
- Some useful addional toolkits which convert the
files between wave and mp3 format, read the word input
and downloads more voices. A soundable screen saver
is also included.

Hi,
I am very interested in your product/ technology and its
application for people with disabilities and aged care.
My father had a stroke 20 years ago and has been unable
to communicate properly since - he is however trapped
in his own head and fully aware of the world around him.
Sadly that world has become appallingly small as his disabilities
have led to him being cared for in a nursing home for
the aged even though he is only now in his seventies.
He now faces, we don't know how many years trapped in
a room looking at free to air television, or the wall,
despite once having been a high flying executive. I am
sure there are many others trapped in similar ways who
could find your product opens up a whole new universe
for them.
Perhaps you have already thought of this application and
already have support for people in this situation. I have
spoken to my father and the director of his nursing home
and they are keen to find out more about the possibilities.
I've suggested she look at the internet and the aged for
her Master thesis.
......
Yours sincerely,
Tracey Carpenter |

| SpeechExpert is free, it has no time limitations
or restrictive features. Registeration is not necessary either,
but it can remove the advertisement banner and the delay when
starting the software. If you consider it to be a good shareware,
reigister it, please. Thank you. |
